Need to say something about this soon.

As part of my project I will have to make a show-reel and DVD menu to hand in.

To start off with I've collected most of my projects for the last few years and have been sifting though them;
  • digital environment
  • character model
  • website design, two html and one flash
  • concept and drawing from over the years.
  • animatics
  • (if done in time, Jerome's illustration work I'm doing for him)
I won't be using all of them and I'll add others as I find them. The big problem I've got is the music I've chosen. It's too fast. The music has to coomplement the work and I've chosen something that sounds good in my head but would require the work to fly by, rather than give the viewer time to take it in.

Example show-reel from YouTube.

-------------------
Also, the introduction is going to need some work. I've stuck with my normal Steampunk style that people have grown accustomed to when looking at my work.

I am disappointed that no one has suggested a DVD menu software and the ones I have looked at aren't very good. I have also learned that it wouldn't really matter to my grade if it was customised or not.

script

got the script form jerome yeserday. i'm working on the story bords now and will update this post later on with the images.

also there is a lot there. lot more then i thought. o.O

consept chartor work

Jerome's characters in the story are basically distorted versions of the Cluedo set. Mr Mustard, Miss Scartlett and the others are transformed into modern, depictions of them.

Research: I did say before that Jerome provided the research and let me know how he wants them.

The artwork on this page is what Jerome sent to me.

defining the briff and reserch

I am now getting on with some of the work. I still haven't got a full script from Jerome but he has provided each character's description and has done the research on styles.

As for the art work I'm going to look at Humberto Ramo for art style.

As for the animation, I will look at the work of Images Comics (the people behind Dead Space animatic-like comics) to start with.

The 'Mike Kirby comic book art style' coupled with the basic animation gives the whole thing a feel more like an animatic - this is one of the reasons why I took this job.

But it's too serious. The dark and graphic style is far too dark for what I feel Jerome is looking for.

Update:
I want to ask Jerome is there is any chance of sound, voice acting or such like.
